If any extreme condition is there then you can collect sample within 12 to 72 hour. If you taken more then this it's nearly impossible to find sperm traces from collected sample. Second very important thing is that, In a verdict, the supreme court had said in 1994 "Non availability of semen traces on body is no basis for Rejecting rape."
